Ok ... so I was watching the inauguration, as many did, on Tuesday, live via Internet. I, like most, had to go to work and thankfully for Fox5 NY, they had it streamed live on the Internet.
So anyway... I had the whole thing on from 9am until the actual inauguration of Obama. A few of my co-workers were talking about the whole thing and were shocked at the amount of people turned out. I had stated how I wish I could be there and that sparked up some conversation.
Hang on a second- just to recap... I'm no politician nor am I ever interested in the whole thing, but if you have been reading my blog, you'd already know that this past election was quite the exception for me. I am normally reserved, but there was no holding me back this time around. So anyway... the day of elections, I was expressing my Pro-Obama banter and I was talking to one of my co-workers about my parents and how they didn't want to vote. I had stated to this one, specific co-worker.. "... I told them that this is the most historic election ever! You have the opportunity to take part and say that 'I was a part of the election!' If you want Obama to win, you need to vote. If you don't vote and he loses and the economy takes a turn for the worse and taxes increase drastically, you have no right to bitch!,,,"
Right away, one of my co-workers piped in that I need to shut my mouth and keep my thoughts to myself and that how I am on thin ice. Well I had decided to pursue it and I realized that he was Pro-McCain... So he began the slander saying how Obama is the "Anti-Christ" and how he's the downfall to society and America ... etc. etc.
Look, I personally feel that everyone is entitled to have their own beliefs and I do nothing but rock that thought, but when you start putting down a man and saying such things and getting religion involved, I am sorry, but I can't tolerate that. I will step up on my soap box and say what I believe in and how I feel about my candidate of choice, but I would never start ripping on the opposing side. Granted, it's all built into us, but I wouldn't go so far as saying that someone is the "downfall to society" ...
ANYWAY- back to my original rant ...
So with all that said, we were watching the inauguration and the same co-worker comes in after I stated that I wish I could be there at the inauguration. He starts going off about how he'd expect me to say something like that and started going on about being there is like being in NYC during new years eve. He just started his shit again and I personally didn't want to hear it nor be distracted from the ceremonies.
So I let it slide and just carried on working and watching the broadcast. All of a sudden, my co-woker pipes up again and states how it's shocking that Obama agreed to be sworn in on a Bible. I honestly had nothing more to say to this guy. This is the reason why I am so against politics... my co-worker and I always got along and he was always a nice guy, but now my perspective on how I see him has changed.
Look- setting race, religion, and all political views aside, my thing is that this is SERIOUSLY a very historic event that will forever be reviewed by children in the future. 100 years from now, children will be reading about the first black president and wondering what it was like to have been there. I can say that I know, because I was a witness to it all.
I was trying to explain that as well, but he just wouldn't hear it. To me, and forgive me for saying this, he is just an ignorant fool! He just really pissed me off. What more could I say... if he's that small-minded and ignorant and can't see anything else, it's not my problem!!
The scary thing is that there are more people out there just like him! Have we not evolved at all? Racism should be abolished by now ... can't we all live in peace??

Anyone out there?
So, granted I haven't been exactly posting much, not many people seem to be out there. I used to get at least one comment and for like the past 10 posts, I haven't received any.
Is everyone out there just as busy as I am that you don't get to read the blog as often or is it that I have become just plainly boring?
Anyway... I do apologize for not posting as frequently as I had been doing. For some reason, this year, so far, has kept me beyond busy! I haven't had much time to do anything, if you know what I mean!
Well I hope everyone is doing ok out there! I keep saying that this is my year to succeed in all my goals and lord knows I am trying very hard.... so we shall see!!
xoxo,
J

Some resolutions, that I hope to keep
So I was really thinking about it and I finally came up with a few resolutions that I truly hope that I can keep this year ... so here goes...
- Join back to a gym and shed about 50lbs in total by the summer
- Hit 300 posts ... hopefully all meaningful (or at least sexy)
- Save enough money for a decent down payment on a car and hopefully be able to BUY a car when my lease is up.
- Save some money for a security deposit on an apartment.
- and .... if I can get an apartment ... and be financially secure ... come out!
What a lovely gift ....
So for Christmas, my sister surprised me and got me tickets to see Hairspray on Broadway. Let me just say that it was AMAZING!! It is TRULY SAD that they've canceled the show! I wish that I could take EVERYONE I know to see it!The show was hilarious and so damn good! I listened to the soundtrack on my way home and when I arrived at home that night and watched the movie (new one) twice!
I seriously love this musical! It has such a positive message in it and quite frankly, I suspect that everyone in the world should see the show and/or movie. Everyone should be reminded of what hatred and segregation was and how we are all one people and shouldn't be divided!
I seriously want to go and act on Broadway now! I think I may SERIOUSLY give it a try! I have no fancy resume that shows that I've studied at some ritzy art school or anything like that, but who knows, maybe I can be talented enough to land a part... oh well ... a gay boy's dream!!
The report is in ...
... and I am pissed!Ok... so I got Mamma Mia! The Movie for Christmas and let me just say that I am so disappointed! I am just beyond pissed off at the movie!
I don't know if it is because of all the hype surrounding the movie and the Broadway show that led me to the high expectations or what, but I was utterly disappointed.
Granted, any movie who has a straight man turn gay and fall in love with a HOT GREEK boy, definitely get's an instant 5 stars from me (I know... total cliche), but this time around, they lost all their luster!
I think I was really pissed more so of the story line and Amanda Seyfried's acting. I seriously wanted to jump into my TV and bitch slap her.
Pierce Brosnan SERIOUSLY better not quit his day job of acting because let me tell you, singing IS NOT his forte!
As for Meryl Streep... She was AMAZING! I was beyond impressed with her acting/singing in the movie! It was excellent!
I will admit that after watching my FAVORITE song of all time, Take a Chance on Me, over and over, it did grow on me... but I will have to say that do not sit down to watch this movie with high expectations.
I really don't want to give away too much about the movie, so I will leave the specifics of my complaint out, but REALLY ... don't have too much expectations...
