30 Days

So I don't know if anyone has seen the show "30 Days" on FX or not, but let me just tell you... AMAZING!

The one episode that I've seen has got me hooked! It just so happens that the episode that I caught was about these two men, a gay couple, who had adopted 4 boys, and a traditional woman, who believes that gays shouldn't raise children.

Let me just say... what an episode! I was in tears at the end of it!

So to debrief you on the show... they basically find two opposites and move them in together for 30 days and then we see if their opinions or point of views change at the end of the show.

Well basically this woman, raised on absolute tradition, feels that same-sex couples should not be able to raise children. She strongly feels that a child should have a "mommy/daddy" environment to grow up in. She was shipped over to Ann Arbor, where these two successful gay men have a home and decided to adopt 4 boys. They welcomed her in with open arms and she was, for the most part, good.

She spent days where they made her fight for the complete opposite thing of her beliefs. She admitted that the two guys were wonderful people, but she could not let go to her belief that children need a "normal" environment. She even met with two different adults who were both adopted by gay couples. The adults drove her to their old place in the literal ghetto, which was their home for quite some time. One had their mother shot in front of him and then he had to move into the broken down foster center, where he had lived until his gay parents adopted him.

They tried to show her that whether, black, white, asian, straight, or gay, the fact that their lives were saved, thanks to those kind couples, their lives are better. Although they showed her crying when she saw the living conditions, she agreed that it is great that their parents did what they did, but she still held on to her belief.

At the end of it, the last day, the couple and the woman had a last one-on-one and she still wouldn't let go.

I absolutely understand that this belief is what she was raised to believe, but maybe just admitting that it's not such a "bad" thing, would've been nice. She admitted that they're good people, but the fact that they should have the right to adopt children was still a big no for her.

I also forgot to mention that there is an uprising lately in which people are trying to LEGALLY ban same-sex couples from adopting. The couple on the show were obviously working against that.

Now as far as I'm concerned... this is America, correct? "Home of the FREE..." -- Why is this an issue? Why is your life choice an issue?

Whether you "chose" to be gay, straight, or bisexual ... that shouldn't be looked down on. I quoted the word chose since it is said that some people don't choose, but either way... this is something that should not be an issue.

Funny thing... I just finally watched Hairspray... the new one... by the way, I TOTALLY LOVED! -- anyway... the storyline in the movie/play ... blacks or "negros" fighting for equality and integration... that reminds me of today's battle.

As far as I'm concerned, neither should've ever been a battle. American is the LARGEST melting pot of people worldwide. Who is it of those law makers to decide that one way is proper versus another? Although that catholicism is the major religion of America... some beg to differ... so be it ... who is it for anyone to say that "catholicism" is the main religion? I've seen on the news about things like "it's an abonimation to our religion" ... "man and man or woman and woman cannot get married in this church" --- Says who?

Anyway... sorry for rambling. This one kind of hit close to home. Although I'm closeted at the moment, I do hope to muster up the confidence to announce my choice of lifestyle to my overly traditional family and eventually find the perfect guy, MARRY him and ADOPT children of my own. Since I was little and before I knew about gay or straight or penis or vagina ... I saw the commercials where the children who were less fortunate than me are on TV and people are begging for help to save them. I ALWAYS knew that I wanted to be a part of resucing a child from those places and to put them into a safe and loving home, one in which I hope to eventually have.

So either way, whether I become one of those "straigt" married men or an actual happily married gay man... either way, I want to know that my option to adopt is one in which I can have for as long as I live....

This so doesn't help...

Ok... so as you know I am nearing the end of my long ass sabbatical! I am SERIOUSLY dying and I have been holding in strong. Though many temptations to have a wank (LOL), I have been strong!

My cousin, whom I've mentioned before in prior blogs... he's a hottie. If it wasn't morally wrong, I'd probably do him. I know it's wrong and disgusting, but when you're hot, you're hot.

ANYWAY.... my cousin comes over today and with no intention of going in our pool, ends up in there. He had to borrow one of my swim trunks. So my week has come to an end! It's Friday and as of Monday, I'm back to my very normal Long Island life.

There is so nothing wrong with that, but I am going to miss the city. It was mostly fun getting up and getting into the city. The "rush" was nothing short of amazing.

I mean... to get up at 4:30AM, shower and get ready, leave by 5:30AM to get to the train station, park my car, purchase a ticket, and run to catch the 5:58 train... talk about a rush! I will admit that I was flustered most of the time, but to finally sit down on the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) and know in my head that I just made it... what a way to wake yourself up!

I'd finally arrive at Penn Station around 6:05AM and then make my way over to the #1 Subway. Catch the next one heading downtown to the Wall Street District and pray that I'd get a seat. Most of the time, at that hour of the morning, I would be lucky and get a seat. From the Subway, I would mosey on down to my building, about a block away.

After I was done... around 4:00 ... I would run, like most others, and catch the #1 back uptown to Penn. From there, I would arrive at 4:45ish and have just enough time to purchase my ticket back and get on the 4:52 LIRR back home...

I had always been contemplating getting a city job, but the thought of the commute would always defer me away from the whole idea. After this week and realizing it's not as bad as I had imagined, I am SERIOUSLY considering a city job.

To me, riding the Subway is the most fun. You meet some serious characters there. For example, this morning... the most ABSOLUTE gorgeous guy stepped into my cart and sat next to me like 2 stops in. We sat together the entire time going down to the last stop. He was really young... I'd say like 21/22... possibly 24 ... he had a baby face and he was just soooooo cute! He was all dressed up with a pinstriped black suit and sky blue shirt and matching tie... (You think I fell in love? LOL) -- He had a nice flip-front hair cut... short all around and then nicely gelled and flipped in the front. Beautiful blonde color ... OMG! Just amazing! To me, it was like God telling me... "HERE... enjoy this one... it's your last day!"

So after melting all over him and seriously just wanting to take my hand and grab his crotch and hope for the best, I got off the train, with him, and headed out to my work.

On the way home... I caught the train, what I thought just in time, but it turned out we were delayed b/c someone needed medical attention at the other stop and for whatever the reason, we couldn't proceed. I totally understand and have nothing against that decision, but at the end of the day, you honestly want to just get home!

ANYWAY- I had the pleasure of standing next to this young kid who was blasting his iPod in his ear and totally busting out in sync with his rap music. It would be quiet and then all of a sudden a burst of lyrics coming from him... like everyone could hear the music and like he was David FREAKIN' Cook! LOL --- I did what everyone else could only do, which was laugh it off.

I finally made it to Penn Station to catch the LIRR with a minute to spare. The train was PACKED. I had to stand the ENTIRE ride home... I am so tired.. it's not even funny...

There was this girl on the train, obviously heading out to the Hamptons.. I heard her say something about connecting in Babylon... which is the last stop on the line... I heard her talking about her apartment and something about a maid and whatever... Instantly... I stamped her with a big RED stamp... on her forehead stating "HIGH MAINTAINENCE" --- Jesus!!! LOL

Anyway... as tired as I am right now, I seriously wouldn't trade it for the world... I felt somewhat more independent and responsible, being able to travel the city on my own and adventure out of my comfort zone... I would do it again in a hearbeat!

Well as enthusiastic as I may come across... I am fairly tired.. so while every other 22 year old is probably going out to party on this gorgeous night... I am just going to grab a blanket and curl up in my bed.... anyone care to join me?

Loving the City!

So I've been in the city for the past week traveling back and forth from Long Island. (Look... I've leaked more information to my actual location)

I've been on assignment from my company to cover "Internet Week NYC" and I am absolutely loving every moment of it! All expenses paid! I just wish that they'd pay for a hotel room instead of making me commute...

Anyway... with all that said, I must say that New york has quite an interesting array of people! It's so amazing to see how many people just doze off at 4:30AM on the Subway. First and foremost, I can't sleep on anything public, whether it be a train, airplane, or whatever... It just doesn't happen! Secondly... I think I'm too petrified of being mugged while asleep, so that's another reason why I don't sleep! It just amazes me how many people I see dozing off in the Subway. Long Island Rail Road is a totally different story. I did ONCE pass out while returning home from a LONG night at the clubs... but that was a once in a lifetime thing!! (Not to mention that I was a bit drunk.. hehe)

So now that the week is coming to an end, I know I'm going to miss the city. I have been contemplating getting a city job for quite some time now, but now that I've realized how EASY the commute is, I am seriously thinking about it! (Shhh... don't tell my company!!)

Anyway... I'm off again as it is nearing 8AM and I must get signed in. Thankfully, getting up so early and going through most of the day on my feet has tired me out so much, that when I get home, I just PASS OUT! So with that said, I am staying steady and on track with my sabbatical! :)

It's a beautiful weekend New York!

Well since its our official first heat wave of the season, I hope everyone out there enjoys the 3 days of 93 Degree weather!! I know I'll be doing laps in my pool to help me not melt! :)

A DVD Review

So in response to my prior post about the DVDs I had purchased. I had watched them on Friday, prior to my parents return this past Saturday. I took the day off work, knowing that it was expected to arrive and as soon as it did, I ripped it open, popped the DVDs in and whipped out my little mini-me. ;)

Just a disclaimer before I continue... This all happened prior to my leave of absence of jerking off...

So ANYWAY... the "Bad Boys, Big Dicks" DVD ... gets 2 out of 5 stars! It wasn't all that I had expected. It was a collection of scenes from old movies. There was no story line (which I had expected) and I didn't get to see much of the DVD considering it skipped like crazy! I guess you get what you pay for... right? For $9.99 -- I guess it was worth whatever you could see..

As for "All you can eat" - Let's just say that I would be a big fat cow, if it was all you can eat. Good story line... hot actors and quite modern. I would highly recommend!! Super hot and definitely worth watching over and over! I was quite excited. ;)

So, I would recommend them both for those interested. Now I must go and get to sleep and try not to think about sex, hot naked men, or jerking off! :P

My Sabbatical... so far...

Ok... so it's been basically two days that I have gone without jerking off. It's a bit hard, no pun intended, at times, but I am so far surviving...

Some may think that this is pathetic, but for someone who jerks off every day, sometimes 2x a day... it can become so hard to control!

Prime example... I had to go a bit out of my way to our local pool store the other day.
